Twelve Years

The Cow is worse than the Car - Combined emissions from the meat and dairy industry outweigh the emissions from all transport - cars - lorries - ships - trains - planes - motorcycles etc etc -

I think most people are aware of the recent announcement from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that we have a mere 12 year duration of time in which to redress the climate breakdown and keep global temperature rise to one point five degrees -
Failure to do this will have catastrophic results for the immediate future of the Earth and all species -  At the moment the World is on target to fail spectacularly at this golden opportunity -
Therefore pressure must be brought on the governments of the World to pursue policies which will protect - not further endanger - our common (and only) planet -
Nothing short of a cultural upheaval will achieve such fundamental change as is needed - as it is our present culture that has so degraded our planet -
We must all make changes in our lives -  Move away from the internal combustion engine -  Don-t waste food -  conserve electricity and fuel -  consume less -  go vegan -  there are many many ways in which we can make a contribution but perhaps the biggest contribution is getting the governments to do the right thing -  a difficult problem as naturally the capitalist governments are in the pockets of the biggest producers of capital - the petrochemical industry - the meat industry - the arms industry etc etc -
We basically change the culture of the world or the world rapidly degrades into an unlivable hell-planet -  Surely worth giving up the odd luxury to have such a beautiful world under our feet - - -

Derek Thomas MP Responds To Extinction Event Letter - Cornishman Publish Letter

In view of the critical situation the Earth now faces due to man-made climate breakdown and the associated extinction event unfolding daily around us I recently contacted my MP in an open letter to the local paper - The Cornishman - asking for his response to the crisis -
Here-s the original letter:
Open letter to:  Rt Hon Derek Thomas MP -
29-11-2018
CC:  The Cornishman newspaper

Dear Derek
I am sure you are aware of the recent announcement by the IPCC that the governments of the world have a mere twelve years in which to drastically reduce carbon emissions for there to be any chance of keeping global temperature-rise to one and a half degrees -
I am sure you have also heard of the predicted consequences of failure to do this -
Currently around 200 species are becoming extinct per day in what scientists have declared to be the greatest extinction-event since a meteorite wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago -  Since 1970 we have lost half of the wild animals on earth as well as vast amounts of forest and wilderness -
In view of this emergency in which we find ourselves I would be very grateful to know what steps you - as political representative of this south-western part of Cornwall and the Scilly Isles - are taking to address this situation and press for the reduction of carbon-emissions and other forms of pollution in this area -
My view is that we should all do whatever we can to prevent this this Mass-Extinction-Event  from drastically degrading the world that our children will inherit from us -
Obviously - sitting in the House of Commons - you are in a far stronger position to influence our climate and nature-protection strategy than the average citizen and I welcome hearing your response to this emergency -
With best wishes -

----------------------
A couple of weeks later I received a reply from Derek Thomas which follows below in full:
----------------------
Dear Jeremy

Thank you for this email. You are absolutely right to raise this. The IPCC report must sharpen our minds to this issue. There is no doubt in my mind that one of our first duties is to care for the natural environment and behave in a way that does not compound the current challenges.

Your email is timely, not least because in November I met with the Chair of the Campaign for Rural Cornwall to engage his organisation’s advice and expertise regarding how we can sensitively respond to the needs of our community such as providing housing, infrastructure and improvements to mobile and broadband connectivity. I also met with the RSPB in October to see some of the work they have been doing to protect and encourage natural habitats in West Cornwall. This was prior to a Parliamentary debate and second reading of the Agriculture Bill. I argued that we must support the few small farms that remain to support sustainable food production and environmentaly-friendly farming.

On Friday I met with a local environmental campaigner as we are working together to develop ideas with my Cornish colleagues towards a self-sufficient Cornwall as far as energy is concerned. This is something I’ve been keen to do for several years. I am also the Parliamentary representative in Cornwall for the wave and tidal renewable energy sector and we hope to meet with the Minister in the new year.

My view is that we must address our ‘leaky’ homes and reduce the use of carbon fuels in transport as an urgent priority in the UK. This is something I’ve persisted with here in Westminster. However, this is not enough to effect change around the world. I see the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as the most useful agreed priorities for the developed world both to address inequality around the world and address the problem of harmful emissions, unnecessary waste and harmful industrial practices. I’m sure you are aware of the SDGs but if not they are worth investigating. To support these goals I communicate the priorities with our schools and find opportunities for the Government to be held to account for their progress in meeting the goals they have signed up to on behalf of the UK.

I appreciated your constructive email Jeremy and apologise for the delay in responding.

Regards

Derek Thomas MP

Derek Thomas with Teresa May - Prime Minister of Britain

On 19th December 2018 my letter was printed in The Cornishman newspaper -  I hope this goes some way towards raising people-s awareness of the extreme urgency with which we need to transform our entire way of life if we are to have a healthy planet to pass on to our children -

FDC Medical Neglect Continues

Open message to:
Julie Jones - Secretary - Florida Department of Corrections
David Richardson - Florida House of Representatives
Rick Scott - Governor of Florida
Lester Fernandez - Inspector General - FDC
Ken Sumpter - Deputy Inspector General - FDC
Right Honourable Emily Thornberry - Shadow Foreign Secretary -
                            Her Majesty-s Official Opposition
Casey Frank - Editor - Miami Herald Newspaper
Mathew Teague - The Guardian Newspaper - London - England
Reprieve and Amnesty International - International Justice Organs

Dear Julie Jones and Florida officials -
I am writing to you as I am extremely worried about the medical condition of Florida inmate Anthony Bellido-Carbonell (# D31307) -  A tumor was found in this man-s leg one year ago -  The leg has recently turned black and is losing sensation - these are typical gangrene symptoms -  I implore you to ensure that he receives immediate and appropriate medical care for this disease which is threatening his limb and quite possibly his life -
I do not know what crime this man committed but he is entitled to medical care as a fundamental legal right and I ask you sincerely to expedite this urgently before his condition worsens -
With many thanks -
Yours sincerely -

A lot of activism involves letter-writing and in some circumstances it is still an effective method of pushing for change -  It has the advantage of possibly prompting a response and also letters can be published which makes them powerful evidence in some cases (and helps get a response - especially if you can get them into the newspapers!) -  Even if emailing and writing to politicians and decision-makers had little effect on them I think it would still be worth doing - for documentary purposes if nothing else - So that activists can show that they have exhausted all reasonable routes of redress before considering direct-action -
The problem is that when MPs and Chief Constables and various other people in positions of influence simply ignore written approaches to discuss policy they are seriously undermining democracy and forcing people to consider other ways to progress their causes -  This particularly applies to MPs who-s job is to represent the people and to the police who must be accountable to those they serve and protect -
This brings us back full-circle to the topic of medical neglect in the Florida Department of Corrections -  When exonerated British citizen Krishna Maharaj was infected with flesh-eating bacterial disease in the Florida prison system that has wrongly held him for 30 years I made repeated attempts to ask my representative in the democracy - my MP - to ask the British Foreign Secretary (also a Conservative Party member) to speak to the Florida government in Tallahassee and get appropriate medical aid for Mr Maharaj my MP - Derek Thomas - ignored me -  He ignored my phone messages - my emails - letters -  everything!  He was quite happy to let Krishna Maharaj literally rot away in a foreign jail - knowing that he might lose his leg - or quite likely die - without immediate treatment -
As far as I-m concerned - officials who neglect their duty to respond to the public are in breach of the social contract -
When enough people consider the social contract to be broken it has to be re-written -

The Limpet Strikes Terror Into Trump-s Stunted Psyche

In a way I hate to give him any publicity because really it-s all a diversion and the world would be far more interesting if we were all focused on cultivating our innermost nature instead -
Sadly though the reigns of power typically lie in the least worthy hands and this here personage is a classic case in point -   So rather than enumerate and elucidate his innumerable crimes which most of you know about anyway I thought I-d draw his portrait instead -   It ain-t brilliant I-ll admit - but I think I got one of his eyes right!  The pointillist scarlet face seems to have been enhanced by the scanning process - makes him look kind of sick don-t it~
And if you don-t believe The Limpet strikes terror into Trump-s stunted psyche then why do you think he has never granted it a Press-Pass for the White House~ ~ ~

Justice For The Mentally Ill

The state should be protecting the mentally ill - not using the police to kill them and the prisons to torture them in as they do in Florida and so many other states and nations around the world -
Anybody can suffer an emotional crisis and at least in the so-called more "civilized" world we supposedly have systems in place to help - protect and support the most vulnerable - those going through the frightening and traumatic experience of mental illness -
Anybody can go through a temporary or long-term period of confusion - pain and disorientation - perhaps to the level of psychosis which could include auditory or visual hallucinations -  There are many causes for these types of crisis - Particularly in the developed Western world stress is so common as to be an almost universal disease -  Suicide is the number-one killer of the 18 - 30 age-group in both Britain and the USA - To me this suggests a cultural sickness that affects societies - not just individuals -
In other words a healthy culture - a healthy socially-integrated life in a positive environment would not produce runaway suicide figures - let alone the other types of crime and distress that result from the dehumanization of our daily lives in the name of progress - modernity - security - money and material goods -
In these highly stressed conditions it is hardly surprising that so many people reach crisis-point - particularly with so many financial worries - austerity - lack of opportunity - bad-diet - vast social pressure to conform to somebody-s idea of a standard - all these and many other factors contribute to emotional crisis and when it comes it can often be a public incident - a public outburst - and this is where the police all too often get involved with tragically fatal results due to over-reaction to people who are not a genuine threat in many cases -
Having been writing about and campaigning on this issue for many years it is still deeply distressing to discover the extent to which people are dying when police intervene in what is commonly termed a mental-health crisis -  All too often the police use over-kill tactics - particularly if the "suspect" or "patient" has picked up any kind of weapon - no matter how ineffective it might be - the police frequently shoot first - whether with taser or gun - and ask the questions afterwards -
My correspondence with the British Government over the issue of taser goes back to 2010 - Just recently the MP for North Norfolk stated that the UN regard taser-usage as potential torture - This is the first time I have heard of an MP making such a statement so it is very encouraging that someone in his position is listening to the UN -  After all - we did draft the treaty against torture in the 80s so surely our nation should live up to the spirit and meaning of the convention -
With my own MP refusing to talk to me on this issue - despite a filmed promise to do so! - and the Chief Constable for Cornwall and Devon Police also failing to deliver a promised response on this issue - it is hard to have much faith in the credibility of the British democracy -

SAVE THIS WORLD!

Pushing through the market square, so many mothers sighing
News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us, earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying

From "Five Years" by David Bowie - 1972
The latest warning from the World-s most eminent climate scientists is by far the most dire yet and essentially says that we have 12 years to contain temperature-rise to a one and a half degree Celsius increase or  face harrowing consequences for natural life on this planet (and that includes us!)
There-s a lot of pessimistic talk in the media along the lines that people are too divided and individualistic to tackle this threat to our future-survival - Obviously if we give in to a negative attitude to this terrible problem we will have no chance whatsoever of tackling it - Alternatively - with serious cooperation and effort from all of us - there is still time to limit the damage mankind has already done to the planet Earth -
It-s time for us all to take an extremely good look at the way we live and start making the changes necessary to keep down the temperature-increase to one point five - if we want to leave our kids a planet that is not tragically degraded and sick beyond hope of healing -
In a related issue Britain-s Guardian newspaper is suggesting that Stratospheric Aerosol Injection "might be used in the future" to combat climate-change - This statement is disingenuous however as in reality large areas of the World are already subject to this highly controversial procedure commonly called "chem-trails" - they can be seen over Cornwall and numerous areas of Britain and elsewhere - See The Limpet-s previous coverage of this issue here

Among the many things you can do to personally combat climate-change are using less energy at home - for instance turn off lights when not in use - -  Drive as little as possible - give lifts when you do and share transport - -   Avoid wasting food -  grow as much of your own food as possible - -  Buy and consume as little as possible - -  Germinate and raise some trees - you don-t need land to do this - there is always somewhere to plant them - just make sure they can flourish undisturbed - -  Have discussions with everyone you know about these issues and keep them in the public-focus - -  Best of all - think up your own ways and methods -
It-s up to you -

STREET PRIDE - Homeless Affirm Rights

If you have walked down the main street of any small town or big city in Britain you will have seen them - an army of displaced people - huddling in doorways - asking for money to survive - swaddled in sleeping-bags - trying to keep warm - these are the homeless - a phenomenon not limited to the streets of Britain - but rather to most of the so-called developed world -
Why~
Haven-t hundreds of years of technological advancement been capable of putting roofs over the heads of our citizens~
Is one of this planet-s richest countries incapable of housing its own people~
Could it be that Britain is financially capable of housing us all and the true reason for homelessness is not only the gaping chasm of wealth-inequality but also the tragic inhuman fact that too many people simply do not care -
So as long as we have spiraling wealth-inequality combined with general lack of human compassion we can expect to see this army of displaced persons on every street in our nation - huddled in sleeping-bags and begging for change -
This is where our outmoded system of Capitalism has got us -  Hundreds dying on England-s cold streets every winter as the rich glide past in their large warm automobiles choking the planet -  and rather than challenge the wealthy or the holders of power - we have constant reports of people turning their frustration and anger against those least able to protect themselves - those with only a millimetre of nylon between their head and the boots of any thug who passes by -  Attacks on the street-homeless are a tragic sign of just how sick some elements of society have become -
A much smaller class of displaced persons is the Rustic Homeless - those who choose to live secluded in nature rather than on the public streets -  With the prevalence of dependency-issues among the street-homeless one of the reasons for being in town is to be close to a dispensing pharmacy - or other supplier of drugs including alcohol -  Also in town there is the chance of acquiring money and having companionship - For these reasons the vast majority of homeless people choose the streets rather than nature -
However - for the small minority of Rustic Homeless the opportunities are many -  Peace and quiet in nature-s beauty -  Access to agricultural and wild food -  the chance to live in hermetic peace in a beautiful spot in the country-side -  It is a life-style that appeals to some -  The main requirement is discretion and stealth -  Camping is not generally encouraged in many wild country places so often your tenure is dependent on how well you can either defend your territory or preferably avoid discovery altogether!  Attacks on rustic camps are also common - this is partly because many people pitch up in places that are habitually used by the public rather than going truly off-road and looking for some deep-cover -  If you are intending to spend any protracted time in the country-side you will need to think strategically about how to cover your tracks -  Either that or acquire permission to camp if you can get it!
Ultimately nobody should have to be considering any of these options but under Capitalism shelter itself is a commodity so if you want to keep warm and dry you need to offer up your soul to the money-beast -
Or put your efforts into fighting the Capitalist system -

Harold Hempstead Caged Crusader To Publish Book On Florida Prisons And The Darren Rainey Murder

Press Release:
From Florida's most-known prisoner civil rights activist - Harold Hempstead (A.K.A "The Caged Crusader")
Harold Hempstead has been written about in the Miami Herald newspaper, Tampa Bay Times, New Yorker magazine, Huffington Post and dozens of other newspapers and magazines.  He has also appeared on WTVT Fox 13 Tampa, Florida news and CBS4 Miami, Florida news.

DEPARTMENT OF CORRUPTION
DARREN RAINEY - THE UNTOLD STORY
By Harold Hempstead
A historically factual book about the Darren Rainey murder, the systematic culture of corruption in the Florida Department of Corrections and the murdering, torturing and abuse of Florida prisoners.
A compelling expose of the hidden world of brutality and corruption in the Florida Department of Corrections.

Harold Hempstead was incarcerated in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) for 17 years.  On 17th March, 2017 he was involuntarily Interstate Compacted to the Tennessee Department of Corrections in an attempt to censor him on the Darren Rainey case and stop him from engaging in prisoner civil rights activities.
During his years incarcerated in Florida he was incarcerated at the majority of Florida's most violent prisons.
In this historically factual book Harold Hempstead chronicles:
1)  A tremendous amount of facts on the Darren Rainey case that have never been told to the public.  Harold Hempstead exposed the brutal scalding death of Darren Rainey to the Miami Herald newspaper.
2)  The murdering, starving, torturing and abusing of Florida inmates by prison staff.
3)  The mass-poisoning of the food that inmates eat,  with pills, chemicals, feces and urine by FDC staff.
4)  The extreme physically and sexually violent conditions in the Florida Department of Corrections.
5)  The rise in gang membership and violence in Florida prisons.
6)  Drugs, cellular phones and contraband-smuggling activities.
7)  A tremendous amount of facts about the culture of corruption and the unconstitutional conditions of the Florida Department of Corrections.

This eye-opening factual book truly exposes the world behind the walls in the Florida prison system and shows why reform and independent oversight are needed in the Florida Department of Corrections.

MINI AUTHOR BIO:
Harold Hempstead has a Doctor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary Christian College and Seminary and a Paralegal Certification from Blackstone Career Institute.  He was incarcerated for 17 years in the Florida Department of Corrections prior to his March 17, 2017 involuntary Interstate Compact to the Tennessee Department of Corrections.  In 2015 the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida awarded him with the Maurice Rosen Act of Courage Award for placing his life on the line to expose the brutal and fatal scalding of Darren Rainey and for exposing the systematic culture of brutality in the Florida Department of Corrections.  Harold Hempstead is serving 165 years in prison for burglaries and dealing in stolen property.

STATEMENTS MADE ABOUT HAROLD HEMPSTEAD IN THE MEDIA:
Miami Herald newspaper - (Reporter Julie K Brown: 8/8/2015)
"Hempstead didn't set out to be a hero and, perhaps to some people, he isn't a hero at all.  But it is likely that no-one would have ever known about the death of mentally ill inmate Darren Rainey, or about the systematic culture of physical and mental abuse of inmates in Florida prisons. had it not been for Hempstead. "
"Hempstead's steadfast determination to expose the monstrous acts he says he witnessed ultimately brought about an overhaul of the prison system, the firing of top corrections officials and officers, federal arrests and an ongoing investigation by the US Department of Justice ."
"Hempstead did all this from a prison cell and in spite of threats, intimidation and a haunting fear that one day he would suffer an accident and never wake up."

Tampa Bay Times (8/11/2015)
"Convicted burglar Harold Hempstead is responsible for helping to lift the curtains on systematic corruption in Florida's prison system."

Miami Herald newspaper - (Reporter Julie K Brown :  8/8/2015)
Article name:  The Inmate Who Exposed Florida Prisons Culture Of Cruelty
"He saw something was wrong and he took a stand.  What he did took real courage."
"The interests of all the people in Florida have been served by this inmate (Harold Hempstead) revealing the horrors and violence of both corrections officers and inmates.  Because of him, we are better for it."
(Malcolm Tomlin - FDC Chaplain)

WTVT Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Florida
(Reporter Craig Patrick 11/9/2015)
"Harold Hempstead helped expose a scandal that rocked the prison system."

Film Police Brutality

In some situations it is necessary to police the police as they sometimes break the law - This takes courage and is not easy - In holding rogue-police to account you lessen the chances of further brutality-offences in the future - Do not be afraid to film the police at any time -  You-ll be doing the public a service!
I-d also like to take a moment to reflect on all those killed around the world by police-brutality in its many manifestations - to remember the dead at home and abroad and to encourage you all to work for the living by upholding justice whenever you have to -  If we all wait for leaders we might have a very long wait!

The Caterpillar Laughs

For some years now the elder eldritch lepidopteral lava had been crepuscular-flitting and transmitting the pieces of the Minoan Mosaic Culture to me via mystic meet-ups at the midnight phone-box in Pendoze – Behind the Hump-Me Dump-Me statue - In the heart of the old Jewish Market District – near the wharves where whalers rot unsung at rusty anchor and doubloons rattle in the silt and bilge underfoot – Katapliktikos was the Great Antennaed One as he quixotically and osmotically beamed soft luminous neon blue-white rays from his ancient centres of knowledge and shone them my way – Such was the power of the rays I was frequently stunned and on occasion rendered totally unconscious – only to come to some time later – slumped in the midnight phone-box – some time after midnight now of course and rain rattling on the carapace shell of the tiny glass hut -  Never without the glow of celestial knowing do he leave me before going back to the myriad unravelling ways of the night and the mystic business of his thread-spinning and weaving kind -   In tubular glass vials and philes of philtres he left chemicular imprints of significant finds in the realms of organic-structure and the nature of all things -  On waxen cylinders he left strands of music in many forms and styles for a vast range of instrumental forces -  Jars and pots and chests and boxes of scrolls and parchments he passed on and also glass slides and photographic images in many forms – Keys – cyphers – clues – lexicons and harbingers were left loaded – pointing the way to yet more doors to kick open and unleash the collected forces of many cultures and powers – many magical traditions and shamanic studies were included in the ken of the Caterpillar-s whirling feelers – his sentient all-embracing mind flowed over with cultural knowledge and inside nature knowledge like a mighty fountain that sprayed the pigeons that played at its splashing feet -   Shedding the hasps and masks of identity and mortal conformity he re-emerged and re-appeared constantly in ever-slightly-changed forms – ever aetherial and elusive – ephemeral and insubstantial – more idea than flesh-body – more thought-form than sinew – this beast was composed of the very threads of mind-stuff and knew no such limits as ye or I do know – So to learn of lute and lyre and kindle Olympos-s fire in company with this great ephemeral creature was joy untold and over aeons did he the tale unfold – Ever holding in the folds of his robe a book – a telescope and a globe – therewith to scan the scene and scour the worldly-realme and surf upon the billows of the foamy deeps and bustle free and high among the puffy clouds of cumulus nimbus blue and aether and jazz on in the sunset-s gorgeous dripping scarlet purple honey of a sunset howldrehevel evening on old Kernouac Cornish cliff most high and gritty grained bulwark of Atlantek-s roaring shore -   Zeibekiko he scratched with peculiar charm on the many-stringed lyre he clutched with several of his iridescent exoskeletal arms as he spun the melody in slow sedate largo nine eight shuffle – A noble rhythm for an eagle with wings outstretched or circling vulture high above the mountain-valleys looking for carcass with bead of an avine all-spying eye – Thus did he vouchsafe:
Melting myself constantly –
I dissolve into cocoon silk -
Then I spin again –
Afresh the tale unwinds –
You won-t unravel me by grasping at the thread -
This tale starts at the centre –

Winding country road – Many years ago – Leaves blowing from the trees – Yellow the light of the sun – Rain had been driving in sheets – Mellow the smell of the earth – Birds were returning to song – Scatter the light of the sun – Raindrops on dewdrops on grass – Bush-crickets running for shelter – ants sliding skilfully down their holes – Rabbits are running for cover – Thunder breaks dark clouds in two – dark covers over the sky – coolness fills into the air – breeze softly mumbles around – leaves stirs about on the ground – windy and starting to rain – drops big as coins hit the ground – Ears of the forest look round – eyes that have listened to the ground – Skin that has smelt all the ground – whiskers that twitch with the sound – listening the forest around – creatures are stirring in sound – breath coming out of the ground – badgers are mulling and brooding – snorting and snuffles and grunts – badger-breath sticky and hot – Fly hiding under the leaf – glistening radiant eye – shiny the carapace glows – thorax and feelers as one – Well the moving of the morning was unfolding and the waters of the ocean were all seething with scintillating light the waters dancing and all around the winds were softly singing and the hearts of countless people lifted upwards and the rain of light fell gently on the people and the laughter of the throngs was like an ocean and the dancing in the streets was like a heatwave and the singing went right through the flowing morning and the fires still burnt on by nightfall-s darkling and the sparrow and the starling were rejoicing and the ivy was entwining with the elder -

Street scenes of the everyday night – Phone-boxes of the street-corner hook-up – Phones off the hook and hangs dangling by the wire – Carriages rattle past oblivious to the pathos of the scene – Here-s where – tendrils whirling – I have had the melting experiences of meeting the Caterpillar – encountering the entity face to decapodic face – Katapliktkos and simultaneously cataleptic this beast flowed with a natural rhythm that defied artifice and nullified the bourgeois mind in one fell swoop -  This Caterpillar was the repository of myriad untold dreams from many creatures of many aeons and epochs of singular collective popular and universal flow and human surge through time-s tapestried halls and space-s unfathomable caverns – the lucky beast!
Well luck was with the humans too as the gifts of caterpillactic knowledge culture and science would soon be spread amongst – disseminated among and generally bestowed upon a seething and pullulating species of monstrous dream-primate sometimes known as Homo sapiens sapiens – the thinking man-s ape –
Dreading that forces unfavourable to the transmission of these cultural treasures were at work – pitting their unwholesome strength into an attempt to thwart the Caterpillar-s work – he reacted by spinning a cocoon of activity – changing form and occilatory-rate – seeming to become more aethereal yet palpably sentient and present – almost human – no – much more than human – and so capable of seeing into the human heart – the human body and blood – the endocrines and adrenalin – the biological underlay that has such influence on the constitution and thus on the typical thought-process – He could observe all these things with his sweeping – scanning antennae and drink in the essence of any activity to which he was exposed –
Plankton-papyri and ambergris archives were opened and revealed by the hundred feet and the swirling papillae – namely the psychic-antennae but fundamentally he would work by direct-communique – he could talk straight into your mind – thus eliminating the need for the crude semaphore of flapping lips and tongues – the monotonous music of the human voice was obsolete and seemed unutterably primitive once he had established the direct method and cut out the middle-man of verbal verbosity -  Such things as happen in red public phone-boxes at midnight in the main streets of Kernouac towns – namely in Pendoze – a quiet little place by the sea where nothing much ever happens – a cobbled hobgoblin hovel huddling high on ramparts of steel-slate pewter skies -

Feel like I-m under water – like I-m in a trance and I can-t wake up – My mind is blunt and I can-t wake up -  Handel bludgeons me unconscious with his ancient formal-garden layouts - lead-lethargy is aemic and osseous - invading the body with its insidious weight - puling as gravity pulls and wrapping bladder-wrack around me ankles as I stumble and tumble in slumber I wander and seek and search and wonder still with head aloft unto the sky and to the stars my eye doth shine a twinkling reflection of all this - of all this -
All twinkled in the eye of a reflective movement like the birth - life and explosive death of a vast Universal System - a Tri-Chilocosm - a Maha-Loka - Births coming and going and exploding and popping like thoughts - The thoughts of an ant - The thoughts that fill the head that fills the aunt-s hat - The ant-s heart and the hart-s panting breath - Breathess entranced - the Arhat has no thoughts -

Death-s Little Imps come and tap you on the shoulder - Mini-deaths - deaths miniaturized and minisculed - death-hints delivered by the Imp Servants of the Skeleton Lord - A bony finger taps you on the clavicle - "You haven-t got forever you know -

What do you think you-re doing~"

Phenomenal flow radiating through the tangible part of the universe - atomic poetry unravelling into molecular chemistry and cellular biological entity - Hallo human - please step forward - you-re on -     It-s your show - You are the star - it-s yours - all yours - your world - take it - take it easy but take it - take it back to the source and shake it - take it to the shiny void - to the misty cloud - to the starry sky - take it away and sing it to life - offer it life and reflect on it -
Ravens and crows have plenty to say -

The last thing you need is more words in your head - but have some anyway - just in case you do - Anything is better than serious media - a squawking crow is a refreshing sound after you-ve enjoyed the sound of ten thousand fiddles steeped overnight in maple-syrup by demented goatherds  - punctuated by the percussion of krogens - carapaces - cocoanuts - goat-skulls - tongueless bells and drums that don-t stick - The sound of falling earth is sweeter than any radio and the sea has more to say than ten million monkeys all chanting the words of Shakespeare - Chaucer and Dickens - So in the light of these revelations you can follow this trail back to the realm of the Caterpillar

The Limpet 187 Mini-Edition on State-Violence and Religious Abuse - An 8-Page Chapbook

The State kills "for you" but arrogantly refuses to discuss it with you -  MPs work "for you" but won-t talk to you - Llanelli cops think it fine to chop off a man-s fingers - they are confident they will get away with it as they think they are above the law - in effect they are  -  Meanwhile in Florida schizophrenics walk in chains - blood and puss dripping from their shackle-ulcers  - 21st century treatment of the mentally ill in the World-s richest country -  Even in the sleepy Shyre of Cornwall the police kill with impunity - ignoring international law - with collusion from ignorant MPs and a corrupt IPCC - In the religious sphere we find rampant abuse of the innocent - A simple request to a Christian Bishop and a Buddhist  Lama for a statement against this class-predation is not deemed worthy of response - hunger-strike or no hunger-strike - Such is the World today - Enjoy!
To make your Souvenir Chapbook edition of The Limpet 187 just copy it into a document and print it out - Then fold longwise - then crosswise through centre and again through quarters - Then cut out dotted area in centre and fold into your wonderful pocket-sized edition of The Limpet - Cornwall-s notorious home-made human rights paper - If you fold it right you-ll have the pages in numerical order!  Enjoy The Limpet - please print some out and share with your friends -

Dear Chief Constable Sawyer-
Four days after Marc Cole was killed by Falmouth Police taser in May 2017 I wrote to you requesting clarification on the legal status of the taser weapon -  As I have been pointing out to the British government and police for eight years now the UN declared the taser x-26 a weapon of torture in violation of the UNCAT back in 2007 - To this date I have never received a satisfactory response from any representative of the government or police - You responded to my letter by sending it to the IPCC as a complaint!
My Conservative MP Derek Thomas promised me on youtube to look into the UNCAT back in 2016 but he has never responded over this and refuses to respond to me or represent me at all -
I asked you to liaise with the British government and the UN to clarify the legal status of the Taser X-26 Stun Gun - You have now told me you are passing this matter to a Superintendent to deal with - This is not satisfactory as a Superintendent lacks the authority required to liaise with the government and United Nations -
Since I have been campaigning against tasers I have watched the death toll grow from just one in Britain to over ten - Andrew Pimlott was burned to death in a taser-incident in Plymouth and now Marc Cole from Falmouth is also dead for no justifiable reason whatsoever -
Since I am the main anti-taser activist for this area and you are the main policeman I suggest you rise to my challenge - if you really represent open - transparent and democratic policing as you claim - and meet me in the arena of public debate - An unedited youtube interview would easily clarify this legal and moral problem for the public - You can hardly expect the police to start using lethal weapons on the streets of Britain without some kind of open public discussion of it -
I have no legal training and am a busker by trade - I challenge you to debate me on taser and UNCAT -
Sincerely - Jeremy Schanche

Re: HUNGER-STRIKE TO PROMOTE POLICY OF ZERO-TOLERANCE OF ABUSE IN BUDDHISM  6:3:2018
Dear Rinpoche
You may remember me as the British Buddhist who wrote to you a few weeks ago requesting an interview on the above topic - As a former student of Sogyal Rinpoche I have taken a stand against the violent - sexually and psychologically exploitative behaviour of the founder of the Rigpa Organization that has recently been revealed to the public and the sangha as I feel this crucial issue is not being addressed properly and the Rigpa Organization is drastically under-reacting to this disturbing and traumatic turn of events - For a while now I have been publicly requesting those who teach at Rigpa London to denounce Sogyal and support the Zero-Tolerance policy -
Response from Rigpa Organization has been zero!
As I said in my previous message to you - I understand that you are extremely busy and plan your schedule far in advance so probably do not have the time for an interview with me on your current tour of Great Britain - Having had no response from you or your Khyentse Foundation I am assuming that the interview will not happen on this tour -
However - I understand that you are a film-maker and thought that if you happened to be in Western Britain at some time in the future I would be happy to show you where Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche lived with my friend Bill in a village in West Cornwall where I live - I could also show you the Buddha-statue that Trungpa Rinpoche fashioned out of clay and gave to Bill Pickard - an English scholar and practitioner of Buddhism since the 1940s - Bill passed the statue on to me in the 1980s when I became initiated into Tibetan Buddhism - West Cornwall also has many interesting things to see such as a prehistoric stone-circle used by Druids which would make an excellent theatre of public debate on film - And an excellent meeting of the cultures of east and west in pursuit of truth -
Again however I realize that with your busy teaching and practice schedule such travels are unlikely - Therefore I would be happy to travel to a different part of Britain to interview you at any time in the future that is convenient to you if you would be happy to grant this -
In the meantime - whilst I know that you have made some public statements on the problem of abuse in Buddhism I would sincerely appreciate it if you would respond to my approaches with a statement in support of the offering and the principle of ZERO-TOLERANCE OF ABUSE IN BUDDHISM - or conversely - if you feel unable to do this it would be most helpful if you would give a statement saying why not - This would help further clarify your position on the topic for the public -
I hope Rinpoche can see the motivation for my actions -
Sadly - if I receive no response whatsoever from you before you teach in London I will go on HUNGER-STRIKE for Saturday and Sunday in protest at your non-response - if such is the case - I hope not -
Kind regards - Jeremy Schanche - ZERO-TOLERANCE OF ABUSE IN BUDDHISM CAMPAIGN
