Hi Folks – I live in West Cornwall, Britain. We are supposed to enjoy Freedom and
Democracy in this country, but my ‘democratic’ representative, Derek Thomas MP,
has made it clear that he will NOT respond to any communiques from me, so I
have slipped through the net of the official democracy and float free in the open waters of political reality. People
denied democracy frequently find other means to air their grievances – I choose
peaceful channels and encourage peaceful activism for a more genuine Democracy than today's discredited and failing model.
Here in Britain, after countless centuries of ‘evolution’, the
capitalist system still fails to provide full employment and many of life’s necessities
to large sections of the populace. Many ordinary
people rely on ‘tax credits’ to help them survive on today's unstable and insufficient wages. The Conservative Party of Britain is about to
destroy the tax-credit system, making many families poorer by £1,200 per
year. This is not acceptable, as it will
create very real poverty for the poorest.
This is Conservative policy – make the poor poorer – make the rich
richer – a sort of reverse-Robin Hood approach.
The polar opposite of Socialism which seeks to make the poor richer and
the rich poorer.
Our local rep in Westminster, Derek Thomas, who voted for these anti-social and callous tax-credit cuts, is well known for his fundamentalist Christian views, so I thought perhaps he should study his bible and try to determine the views of Rabbi Jesus on the topic of poverty. A problem arises however, as it immediately becomes obvious that the Rabbi was a good old socialist and wanted to create a world of shared wealth and opportunity for all, not a conservative one of elitism, privilege and plutocracy.

Have a look at the quotes below. Does this sound like Conservatism to you.............?
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ Deuteronomy 15.11
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19.17
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
Luke 3.11
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind... Luke 14.13
No, it doesn’t sound like the Tory Party to me……..
Derek is too important to answer my letters, but perhaps you will be lucky and get an answer out of him. If you don’t approve of Derek’s latest attack on the children of Britain, why not drop him a line and tell him what you think?
